Cows, deep-fried cheese curds and giant hay bales... Wisconsin at its best. ;)
The end of September, Lee and I had an opportunity to photograph Krissy and Brad's wedding. It was unlike other weddings that we did this summer as it started with the ceremony at St. Michael's church in Junction City, WI and ended at Tansy Hill Farms in Wausau. What Lee and I really loved about this wedding was all the little surprises Krissy and Brad planned for each other and their bridal party along the way!
After the ceremony, the Krissy organized a surprise hay bale ride for Brad and the bridal party on our way to the family farm. There we were greeted by some family cows and a giant hay bale pyramid which of course was incorporated into our photo time! Brad planned a stop at the beloved Mullins Cheese (A Central Wisconsin "must-see") where the bridal party ate fresh deep-fried cheese curds before we all took the short road trip over to Tansy Hill Farm (Check out their Facebook Page HERE) that is set on an amazing hill overlooking some of the prettiest farmland in the Wausau area!
Let me tell you, this is Wisconsin to the "T!" What a way to end a set of four wedding weekends in a row!
To Krissy + Brad:
Thank you for being our first Wisconsin wedding that filled in so many of the joys that Wisconsin has to offer! It was great getting to see your bridal party support you and celebrate you in such a fun way! Congrats!!!
Until next time...
with gusto,
Ann + Lee
I do have to say I love this tradition at wedding dances - all the married couples get out on the floor and the DJ keeps winding down the people on the floor until The couple married the longest at the wedding remains. This couple here has been married over 50 years!
