Lee and I are based in the sunny Stevens Point, WI area and were thrilled to get to photograph a wedding in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Driving just over 2 hours north, magical things begin to happen in the landscape fo Wisconsin.
Mike + Elizabeth picked a camp full of vintage vibes (with modern amenities) and then tossed in their own creative style to turn it into something like a vintage fairytale - think tapered candles, chandelier, old books as centerpieces, etc. When Lee and I arrived early to check out Camp Jorn, we saw people on bikes jousting, playing basketball, yard games, and others wandering around enjoying the crisp air. It really was just like Elizabeth said at the beginning of our email correspondence, "think of the camp in Dirty Dancing." If we're looking at that storyline, swap out drama and the talent show, and insert close friends, family and a ceremony amongst the giant trees of the Northwoods. While getting the feel of the campgrounds, we could feel the anticipation of the events to come later that day. It did not disappoint - tears and laughter were what filled in the cracks of the celebration.
Lee and I walked away from the celebration seeing a glimpse into what Mike + Elizabeth value most: close relationships, amazing food, and beautiful atmosphere.
To Mike + Elizabeth:
Thank you for allowing us to photograph such a beautiful moment in time. Lee and I were honored to be able to capture it for you. We trust that you both will continue on with your authentic relationship and hope that it will continue to grow deeper in a way you could never have imagined!
With gusto,
Ann + Lee
